Supplier Code of Conduct

Glenmex Natürlich is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct, integrity, and responsibility in all aspects of its business. We view our suppliers not just as vendors but as vital business partners and essential stakeholders in achieving our shared objectives. This Supplier Code of Conduct (SCoC) articulates our expectations from suppliers with respect to ethical, environmental, social, and safety standards throughout the course of our business relationship.

Scope of the Supplier Code of Conduct

This Code applies to all suppliers, service providers, vendors, traders, agents, consultants, contractors, joint venture partners, and third parties, including their employees, agents, and representatives, who engage in any business relationship with Glenmex Natürlich or any of its affiliates or divisions.

This Code is designed to ensure that our suppliers adhere to the same standards of conduct and values that are expected of Glenmex Natürlich, which includes respecting international conventions, national and local laws, as well as our commitment to sustainability, ethics, and human rights.

Core Principles

Glenmex Natürlich expects suppliers to uphold the following core principles of conduct, which cover human rights, ethical practices, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility.

1. Labour & Human Rights

Suppliers are required to:

  • Comply with all applicable labor and human rights laws at the local, national, and international levels.
  • Ensure free and voluntary employment: All employees must be hired voluntarily, with no use of forced, compulsory, indentured, or prison labor.
  • Ban child labor: Suppliers must not engage in or employ child labor in any form.
  • Equal Opportunity Employment: Suppliers must provide a fair and inclusive work environment, free from discrimination, harassment, or any form of unfair treatment, regardless of race, gender, religion, age, disability, or any other characteristic.
  • Fair working hours and wages: Suppliers must comply with all laws and regulations related to working hours, wages, and employee benefits, ensuring that wages meet or exceed the minimum wage requirements of the applicable region.
  • Anti-slavery and anti-human trafficking: Suppliers must proactively ensure their operations and supply chains are free from human trafficking and modern slavery practices. They must be aware of and follow laws prohibiting these practices.

2. Health, Safety & Environmental Sustainability

Suppliers must:

  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment: Suppliers must comply with all applicable health and safety laws and regulations to protect their employees from harm. This includes providing appropriate safety equipment, training, and ensuring that workers are not exposed to hazardous materials or environments.
  • Provide ongoing health and safety training: Suppliers are expected to implement continuous education programs for their employees regarding safety standards, emergency procedures, and accident prevention.
  • Commit to environmental responsibility: Suppliers must minimize their environmental impact by using resources efficiently and reducing waste. This includes reducing energy consumption, managing waste products properly, and using renewable materials whenever possible.
  • Obtain necessary permits and comply with environmental laws: Suppliers must obtain all necessary consents, licenses, approvals, and authorizations from relevant authorities, ensuring full compliance with environmental regulations during all stages of business operations.

3. Business Integrity

Anti-Bribery and Corruption

Suppliers must:

  • Avoid unethical practices: Suppliers must not, directly or indirectly, offer, promise, or provide any gifts, bribes, kickbacks, or other improper benefits to influence decisions or gain an unfair advantage.
  • Declare conflicts of interest: Suppliers should disclose any potential or actual conflict of interest that could impact their business dealings with Glenmex Natürlich. Suppliers must not engage in activities that could create an actual or perceived conflict of interest with Glenmex Natürlich’s business.
  • Ensure transparency in business practices: Suppliers are expected to operate transparently and report any unethical conduct, such as bribery or corruption, to Glenmex Natürlich.

Unfair Trade Practices

Suppliers should:

  • Abide by fair competition laws: Suppliers must refrain from engaging in unfair or anti-competitive trade practices. This includes avoiding price-fixing, market manipulation, or other practices that distort competition in the market.
  • Uphold intellectual property rights: Suppliers must respect Glenmex Natürlich’s intellectual property and proprietary information and ensure the protection of all intellectual property rights, avoiding unauthorized use, reproduction, or distribution of any confidential data.

4. Confidentiality & Data Protection

Suppliers must:

  • Respect privacy and confidentiality: Suppliers are expected to protect the privacy and confidentiality of employees, customers, and business partners. They must safeguard sensitive data from unauthorized disclosure or use.
  • Adhere to data protection regulations: Suppliers must comply with all applicable data protection laws to ensure the security and privacy of information they collect and process.
  • Protect intellectual property: Suppliers are required to respect Glenmex Natürlich’s intellectual property rights and must not misuse or disclose any proprietary information provided during the course of their business relationship.

5. Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Suppliers must:

  • Foster an inclusive and diverse workforce: Suppliers are encouraged to create a workplace environment that embraces diversity and promotes equal opportunities for all employees.
  • Promote fairness and equity: Suppliers should promote fairness in all aspects of employment and business operations, including hiring, compensation, promotion, and access to training and development opportunities.

6. Supplier’s Compliance Commitment

Glenmex Natürlich expects all suppliers to:

  • Adhere to all applicable laws: Suppliers must ensure full compliance with all local, state, and national laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Maintain and demonstrate compliance: Suppliers must maintain adequate documentation to demonstrate their compliance with the principles set forth in this Code of Conduct. This includes being able to provide evidence upon request that they are following the guidelines outlined in this document.
  • Allow for audits and assessments: Glenmex Natürlich reserves the right to audit, inspect, or assess a supplier’s compliance with this Code with reasonable notice.
  • Report violations: Suppliers must immediately report any suspected violations of this Code to Glenmex Natürlich. Non-compliance may result in corrective actions, up to and including termination of the business relationship.
